Tired of hearing about the coronavirus and staying at home all day? We are too, but watching this new video Matthew McConaughey posted is the newest form of self-care that’ll keep you going through these longs days of social distancing.
On Tuesday afternoon, McConaughey posted a 90-second video on Twitter sharing his soothing and passionate message to humanity about coronavirus stress. In a very McConaughey-esque manner, he repackages the usually overwhelming coronavirus discussion into a refreshing and hopeful one. He urges us to “take care of us ourselves and each other,” and come together in battling this “faceless, raceless, sexless, nondenominational, and bipartisan” enemy.
“This virus, this time might be the one time that brings us all together and unifies us like we have not not been in a long time.”
– Matthew McConaughey
As if these comforting, inspiring words weren’t enough, McConaughey continues into what may be the new pandemic motto.
“There’s a green light on the other side of this red light.” – Matthew McConaughey
With these words, he wants us to remember that every red light eventually turns green. He believes that this eventual “green light is gonna be built on the values that we can enact right now.”
With these inspiring words in mind, keep y’all’s heads up and keep pushing forward. Remember, we will all be alright, alright, alright.
