Not sure who to root for because ain’t no Texas NFL teams made the Super Bowl this year? We got you.

Are you a Dallas Cowboys fan?
Well then you have mutiple reasons to root for the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes grew up near Tyler, TX and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Another Chief, Nick Bolton, was born in Frisco, TX and played high school football at Lone Star High School. The Dallas Cowboys also largely exist in the NFL thanks to Lamar Hunt’s persistance and creation of the AFL and the Dallas Texans team which would become the Kansas City Chiefs after the NFL-AFL merger. This merger created the Super Bowl and helped bring about the Dallas Cowboys glory years. Also, you couldn’t possibly root for the Eagles right?

Are you a Houston Texans fan?
Rooting for Jalen Hurts (Channelview, TX) and Lane Johnson (Groveton, TX) and the Eagles is probably the closest you’ll ever get to rooting for a hometown team in the Super Bowl in the forseeable future.

Are you a Dallas Mavericks fan?
Root for the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes is a big fan of the Mavericks and has been to several games.

Are you from Houston?
Then you probably want to root for your hometown hero, Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles. Born in Houston and raised in Channelview, TX Jalen is an inspiring success story for all Houston area Texans (even though he went to college in Oklahoma – yuck).

Are you a Texas Tech alumni?
Then you want to root for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Are you an alumni of a school that despises Texas Tech?
Basically if you went to Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas (UT), or TCU – Then you want to root for the Eagles (if you’re not a diehard Cowboys fan). Not for any great reason, but out of pure rivalry spirit. Of course, this also means you’re rooting for an Oklahoma QB so choose wisely.

Are you from East, Texas?
Then you definitely want to root for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes was born in Tyler and raised in Whitehouse, TX. Unless you’re from Kilgore (see below)

Are you from Crowley, Texas and not a diehard Cowboys fan?
Then you want to root for the Philadelphia Eagles. Milton Williams is a Left Defensive Tackle for the Eagles from Crowley who played at Crowley High School.

Are you from Arlington, TX and not a diehard Cowboys fan?
Then you want to root for the Philadelphia Eagles. Kyron Johnson is an outside linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles and played high school football at Arlington Lamar High School.

Are you from Groveton, TX?
Then you want to root for the Eagles. Lane Johnson is an offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles and played his high school football in Groveton and played early college football in Texas before transferring to Oklahoma.

Are you from Kilgore Texas or attended Kilgore College and not a diehard Cowboys fan?
Then you want to root for the Eagles. Lane Johnson is an offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles and played his early college football at Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas before transferring to Oklahoma.

Are you all about Texas being better than Oklahoma?
Then you probably want to root for the Kansas City Chiefs. The team has a long-time connection to the Dallas area and has more Texas football players that didn’t go to an Oklahoma college than the Eagles.

Are you from San Antonio?
No clue what to tell y’all. Root for good food at the party?

Are you from Oklahoma and living in Texas?
I think the obvious choice is rooting for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, a team stocked with several players who played college football in Oklahoma.

Are you from Kansas or Missouri and living in Texas?
Yes, we know there are a lot of y’all moving here lately. The obvious choice here is the Chiefs. Did we even need to write this?

Are you from California? and living in Texas?
