Calling all fried chicken loversā€”Birdcall, a Denver-based chain specializing in fried chicken sandwiches and salads, opened in Richardson at 507 W. Belt Line Road on February 19, 2024.

The Richardson location marks the third Birdcall in Dallas and the 14th restaurant in the nation. Birdcall has locations in Frisco and Carrollton, with more growth in the future. The Richardson restaurant features a new breakfast menu.

Industry veterans Peter Newlin and Jean-Philippe Failyau opened Denver-based Park Burger and Homegrown Tap & Dough and developed Birdcall in 2016. They wanted to make fast food establishments run more efficiently and offer a better chicken sandwich.

The restaurant seats more than 80 customers and offers an oversized outdoor patio. Birdcall gives guests a fun experience, from a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle arcade machine to four beers on tap, two cocktail taps, four kiosks for ordering, and a fast drive-thru lane.

The Richardson restaurant’s breakfast options are served daily until 10:30 a.m. Some delicious breakfast items include fried chicken on a buttermilk biscuit or crispy chicken, egg, bacon, and pimento cheese on a brioche bun. Spice lovers can try the meal option with bacon, egg, cheese, hashbrown, and green chile on a tortilla or the crispy chicken tossed in Nashville hot sauce with honey butter on a buttermilk biscuit.

The regular menu of sandwiches includes the Nashville with Nashville hot sauce and sweet pickles, the Southern with crispy chicken, pimento cheese spread, and slaw, the Buffalo with buffalo sauce and blue cheese slaw, the Rancher with white cheddar cheese, bacon red onion jam, and BBQ sauce, and the grilled chicken Caesar. Veggie lovers can order a veggie with crispy tofu, peanut slaw, and sriracha aioli.

To help the community, Birdcall will contribute to Chefsville, a local educational nonprofit offering cooking classes, camps, and clubs, and the Citizen Fire Academy Alumni Association, which supports the Richardson Fire Department.
