Anyone who is a pizza and pasta fan living in Dallas is familiar with Eddie’s Napolis, a popular pizzeria recognized for its delightful pasta, pizzas, and desserts. The owners of Eddie’s Napolis, three brothers from Kosovo in Southeastern Europe, recently opened Dua Trattoria, a Mediterranean-Italian innovation incorporating flavors from their native country. The new restaurant sits at 5225 Warren Parkway, nearby the Frisco location of Eddie’s Napolis.
The brand-new place is owned and managed by brothers Kreshnik, Lulzim, and Blerinand Vllasaliu, with their uncle Eddie, after whom the original restaurant is named. Dua Trattoria is meaningful to the brothers as a symbol of their home country.
The menu offers something for everyone with various family recipes that combine the owner’s Southeastern European culture, such as burek, a Balkan spinach and cheese pastry, and kefalotyri, a baked goat cheese dip, in addition to Italian favorites like lasagna and chicken parmesan.
Their cevapi appetizer, a beef and veal sausage paired with ajvar, the Serbian roasted red pepper dip, feta cheese, and special Mediterranean bread, has been well received by patrons. The menu also offers flatbreads, sandwiches, salads, and pasta. Customers can also order filet mignon, cappelletti, ravioli with short rib, asparagus, and tomato.
Dark woods, lighting fixtures, and a teal-colored banquette that runs the length of the dining area create a comfortable and relaxing ambiance that is a step above the family’s traditional pizzeria. Customers can order drinks from a full bar and find an extensive range of wines. About 30 people can be seated on a lovely patio in front.
