Texas-based barbecue chain Smokey Mo’s BBQ opened a new franchise restaurant near the University of Texas at San Antonio campus on September 21. This new chain is the sixth location in San Antonio.
The new location brings friendly service to the local community and serves in-house smoked meats, breakfast tacos and bowls, homestyle sides, and the oversized Chopped Baker with smoked meats, sauces, and sides. BBQ plates include meats like turkey, sausage, jalapeño sausage, pork loin, pork ribs, chopped, brisket, and quarter smoked chicken. Customers can order sandwiches and wraps, such as the Sloppy Mo Sandwich. The menu includes baked potatoes and salads, as well as desserts.
Smokey Mo’s BBQ’s franchisors, the Saldivar Brothers, have expanded their store count to two, adding a new location to their existing one in San Antonio.

Switchback Capital, which owns Smokey Mo’s BBQ, plans to expand the chain by franchising and establishing more local locations.
Smokey Mo’s BBQ plans to open corporate-owned outlets in Temple and Harker Heights of Texas by the end of 2024, expanding its 19 current locations.
