A new authentic Italian dining spot, Trattoria Bugatti, opened near Dallas Love Field along West Northwest Highway, bringing a blend of old-world charm and familiar neighborhood appeal.

Trattoria Bugatti’s opening signifies a return of the Bugatti name to Dallas. The Bugatti family first introduced Bugatti Ristorante along Bachman Lake in the 1980s, earning a loyal following through traditional Italian cuisine. After closing that longtime location in 2023, the restaurant reemerged in Farmers Branch in 2024. Now, Trattoria Bugatti has debuted near the original Northwest Highway site at the intersection of Lemmon Avenue and Marsh Lane.

Head chef Erin Willis shadowed an Italian chef and learned firsthand the techniques, traditions, and attention to detail that make Italian dishes so special. This experience in Italy shaped her approach in the kitchen, from fresh pastas to thoughtfully prepared classic dishes that honor the flavors and spirit of Italy.

The menu is filled with classic Italian staples like pasta, seafood, and meat dishes. The menu begins with a lineup of shareable appetizers designed for the table, including pepper-brined Cacio e Pepe Wings paired with a rich parmesan béchamel dip, semolina-based Testaroli pancakes topped with basil pesto and pecorino, and warm house made focaccia served alongside Calabrian chili butter and basil-infused olive oil.

House made pasta takes center stage throughout the menu. One of the highlights is the restaurant’s traditional Italian-style Alfredo, inspired by Chef Willis’ time in Italy and prepared simply with fresh fettuccine, butter, garlic, and parmesan. Other pasta dishes include Sachetti Shrimp Scampi, featuring ricotta-filled pasta tossed with shrimp, white wine, lemon, herbs, and butter sauce, as well as Lasagna “Rotta,” Chef Erin’s updated spin on the classic layered dish with meatballs, ricotta, Pecorino cheese, and broken pasta sheets.

The entrée selection offers a mix of hearty Italian comfort dishes and specialties. Guests can order the Gnocchi Bolognese with pillowy potato gnocchi, pancetta, beef ragù, vegetables, tomatoes, and parmesan, or the Steak Salmoriglio, an 18-ounce Allen Brothers T-bone finished with garlic, Fresno chili, and an herb-forward olive oil sauce. Other options include Eggplant Parmesan layered with ricotta, mozzarella, and tomato sauces; a bone-in Pork Milanese topped with tomato-herb chutney and aged balsamic; and a roasted spatchcock poussin served with a choice of piccata, marsala, or garlic-shallot cream sauce.

The atmosphere reflects a classic Italian trattoria style, where meals feel familiar and comforting, making it great for casual weeknight dinners or relaxed gatherings. Its proximity to Love Field makes it convenient for both locals and travelers. That accessibility, combined with recognizable dishes and a revived local name, could help the restaurant quickly establish a foothold in the area’s dining scene.
