Nation’s, a diner-style eatery from California featuring delicious pies, enormous burgers, sandwiches, and hot dogs, opens a new location at 3311 Preston Road in Frisco, their first location in Texas. The family-owned chain is also relocating their headquarters to Texas, specifically Garland.
Surprisingly, this growing burger chain started as a hot dog stand in 1952. In San Pablo, California, Russ Harvey traded in his 1948 Buick for some cash to start a hot dog business with a 10-foot-wide counter with six stools. It was a wise choice for the company that has to-date owned all of its 29 locations over its 72-year history, but recently started franchising.
If you are a burger lover, this is the place for you. They create giant hamburgers to sink your teeth into like a traditional hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, chili hamburger, and more. You can order big sandwiches, such as the grilled chicken and BLT or the grilled cheese and grilled ham and cheese. Hot dogs and chili dogs are still popular items on their menu.
They offer an expansive pie and dessert menu. Guests can order apple pie, pumpkin pie, berry pie, chocolate creme pie, lemon meringue pie, pecan pie, and lots more. Customers can feast on breakfast entrees, too, like eggs, omelets, burritos, and pancakes.
Over the next five or so years, the company aims to open 30 franchised locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The next three Texas locations will open in Sachse, Denton, and Mesquite.
