Popular Guatemalan Bakery Lands in North Dallas

Sophisticated baked goods come to North Dallas with the opening of San Martín Bakery & Restaurant. Popular for its freshly baked bread and pastries, the new restaurant will open its second DFW Metroplex location at 5407 Belt Line Road, near Addison, on Thursday, August 22.

Founded in 1974 by Andres Castillo, the growing business has 41 other locations in Guatemala, nine in El Salvador, and now two in the United States, both in Dallas. The other location is in Uptown. Castillo’s son, Gabriel, leads the U.S. operations.

Superior baked goods and a friendly atmosphere has helped this venture endure over the years. Andrés’ son, Gabriel Castillo, opened the first Dallas location in Uptown in 2019, thriving despite the pandemic and lack of a visible storefront.

The restaurant offers an expansive menu, from sandwiches and burgers to pizza, pasta, salad, and soup. Find Guatemalan flavors like the Chivito Uruguayo with sliced tenderloin, ham, bacon, white cheddar, tomato, lettuce, and a touch of chimichurri, served in a large egg twist bread.

The new San Martín Addison offers freshly baked goods including specialty breads, delicious pastries, cookies, and cakes. Try the croissant in the shape of a roll and filled with Nutella® and decorated with chocolate. Chocolate lovers will enjoy the Chocolate Croissant, a black and white croissant filled with chocolate, made with 100% butter. Or something more decadent on the menu is the Dulce de Leche Napolean, a delicious thin crispy layers of puff pastry stuffed with custard and decorated with dulce de leche or fondant.

The restaurant offers many coffee specialty drinks served hot or cold, as well as handcrafted ones like the Purple Fuel with pineapple, banana, blueberries, green apple, oats, and honey.

This busy location, situated at the intersection of major highways and thoroughfares, is a popular destination for commuters in Dallas and locals in Addison.

San Martín Addison will provide full restaurant service, a bakery and market, corporate lunch options, office catering, and pickup service for items you have ordered.
