The Colony is home to Playmakers88, an upscale sports bar created by Dallas Cowboys’ Michael Irvin, a three-time Super Bowl Champion and considered one of the greatest wide receivers of all time. He was nicknamed the Playmaker due to his talent for making big plays and for his football successes.
The venue, located at 5005 SH 121, boasts 7,000-square-feet of space with 50 TVs and seating for more than 250 sports fans.
The restaurant’s signature feature, the Cowboys Ring of Honor with 21 Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor members, can be viewed above the spacious bar. Portraits of Irvin and Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith, famously named “The Triplets”, whose fabulous portraits shine as guests enter the unique sports bar. Dallas sports memorabilia decorate the large wall space.
Playmakers88 celebrates the culinary expertise of Chef Rassaun “RJ” Johnson. The menu will feature sports bar classics like burgers, chicken wings, pastas, and seafood like crab cakes, shrimp, and salmon. A full bar serves cocktails, in addition to 20-plus domestic and imported beers on tap.
