Fort Worth’s latest addition to its dining scene already has a major fan following and is making headlines. Big Chicken, partially owned by basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, opened last week, on September 3, in Fort Worth. It’s located off I-35W across from Alliance Town Center. When the doors opened, the first 34 restaurant goers in line received free food for a year, a way to honor O’Neal’s jersey number.
Combining his culinary aspirations and experience with his star power, O’Neal has created a unique dining experience that isn’t your typical chicken restaurant. The walls are adorned with memorabilia from his famed basketball career, adding a unique charm to the space.

Chicken takes center stage on the menu. Whether you’re a fan of classic fried chicken, succulent sandwiches, or innovative takes on poultry, Big Chicken has something for everyone and every taste. Signature dishes include The Shaq Stack, a towering chicken sandwich loaded with crispy fried chicken, tangy pickles, and a secret sauce that is already popular. Try the Ultimate chicken sandwich with mac and cheese, crispy fried onions, and roasted garlic BBQ aioli. The Shaq Attack offers pepper jack cheese, jalapeño slaw, and spicy chipotle BBQ sauce. Customers can order the Big Chicken Bites, which delivers juicy, hand-breaded chicken pieces that come with a variety of dipping sauces. There is much more to try like signature sides, such as loaded crinkle cut fries, dirty fries, creamy mac ‘n’ cheese, and a refreshing coleslaw, all prepared with the same attention to detail as the main dishes.
Big Chicken is a valuable addition for Fort Worth. The restaurant has created numerous jobs and has partnered with local suppliers to source fresh ingredients. It shows that O’Neal’s vision includes a strong commitment to community engagement and support.
If you haven’t yet had the chance to experience it, make sure to check out Big Chicken.
