Dallas’ sushi scene welcomed another notable addition, as Austin favorite Neighborhood Sushi, which opened its first North Texas location in Dallas’ Highland Park. The restaurant is now welcoming guests for lunch, dinner, happy hour, and weekend service at 4216 Oak Lawn Avenue in The Shops of Highland Park.
Created by Austin-based MML Hospitality, Neighborhood Sushi has earned a loyal following for offering premium sushi with attention to detail in a relaxed but posh atmosphere. The Dallas restaurant marks the concept’s first in North Texas, continuing the hospitality group’s growing presence. The group manages other restaurants in Austin, Houston, and Aspen.
The menu centers on classic Japanese fare prepared with high-quality ingredients. Diners can expect an extensive selection of nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, and specialty rolls, along with tempura and shareable appetizers. The Dallas location also introduces exclusive offerings, including chef-crafted lunch bento boxes and a new yakitori program featuring grilled skewers such as Wagyu beef.
Several guest favorites include spicy tuna rolls, Scottish salmon nigiri, yellowtail tartare, shrimp tempura, and specialty items such as Wagyu tataki and miso-glazed sweet potato.

Inside, the restaurant embraces a minimalist Japanese-inspired design with warm wood finishes and clean architectural lines. The atmosphere is casual enough for a weekday lunch while still polished enough for date nights or special occasions.
Guests stopping in during the afternoon can also take advantage of weekday happy hour specials, which include discounted alcoholic beverages, a beer-and-sake combination and reduced pricing on tempura selections.
