Tea and dessert lovers in North Texas have a new reason to visit Grand Prairie. Kissa Matcha, a specialty café dedicated to premium Japanese matcha beverages and desserts, opened in Grand Prairie, introducing an elevated take on the increasingly popular green tea experience. The shop welcomed its first customers on June 1 at 2625 W Pioneer Parkway.
The concept centers on authentic Japanese matcha sourced from a small farm in Okabe, Japan. Kissa Matcha uses larger amounts of ceremonial-grade matcha than are typically found in standard café drinks, resulting in a more robust flavor. Kissa Matcha blends classic Japanese preparation and whisking methods with contemporary flavors designed to appeal to local tastes.
Among the café’s main offerings are specialty drinks such as the Matcha Biscoff Latte, Matcha Strawberry Latte, and Matcha Ube Cream Latte. Guests can also explore inventive creations, including the Ube Boba Cloud, Matcha Banana Cream Latte, and Dulce Horchata Matcha Latte. The menu extends beyond beverages, featuring rich soft-serve desserts with ceremonial-grade matcha and a popular ube swirl option.
The business was founded by Joseph Be, a longtime food and beverage professional who developed a passion for matcha and saw an opportunity to introduce a more authentic tea-focused concept to the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
Located within Asia Times Square, one of the largest Asian-focused shopping and dining destinations in Texas, Kissa Matcha joins a diverse lineup of restaurants, cafés, and specialty retailers that continue to make the development a culinary destination for visitors from across the Metroplex.
