Before sunrise, customers begin setting up lawn chairs outside a home in Frisco. Some wait before the sun starts to rise, all hoping to be among the first in line when Little Bit Bakery opens for the day.
The bakery isn’t located in a shopping center or trendy retail district. Instead, it’s run from the front porch of 21-year-old baker Angela Henson, whose weekend pop-up that serves fresh-baked bread and pastries has grown in popularity.
Thanks to Texas’ Cottage Food Law, Henson can prepare and sell baked goods directly from her home. The small baking project evolved into a business that regularly attracts customers from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with many arriving hours before opening to avoid missing out.
Henson’s Saturdays begin while most people are still sleeping. She starts baking around 3 a.m., so shelves are stocked when customers arrive. The hard work and effort pay off, as many of her signature items sell shortly after opening.
The menu often features artisan sourdough loaves, homemade English muffins, oversized cinnamon rolls, and oatmeal cream pies, all of which have developed a popular following. Returning customers know that arriving late often means leaving empty-handed.
Little Bit Bakery first took shape during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Henson began decorating custom cakes from home. Last fall, she expanded the concept by transforming her front porch into a neighborhood bakery, complete with a rolling bakery cart.
As demand has grown, so has the operation. Henson recently invested in commercial baking equipment, including a specialized bread oven that allows her to produce dozens of loaves each weekend. Today, she bakes roughly 85 sourdough loaves and nearly 100 English muffins every Saturday, along with an assortment of pastries and desserts.

Social media has also fueled the bakery’s rapid rise, introducing new customers to the porch-side shop and creating long lines nearly every weekend. Regulars say the appeal goes beyond the baked goods. Many appreciate supporting a young entrepreneur who has built a thriving business through determination, quality ingredients, and old-fashioned customer service.
At Little Bit Bakery, the freshest loaves and favorite pastries rarely last long, making early risers the ones who score the signature, most sought-after baked goods.
