Tin Star Tacos & Tequila Makes a Comeback in McKinney

October 30, 2026

Remember the gourmet taco restaurant Tin Star? Or how about the Cheeseburger Taco? The popular Dallas-Fort Worth taco restaurant, now named Tin Star Tacos & Tequila, recently made a comeback in McKinney with a fresh new look, fan favorite tacos, and plenty of tequila and cocktails.

Located at 8801 Eldorado Parkway, the restaurant offers a casual dining experience in a Texas-inspired atmosphere. Originally founded in 1999, Tin Star was one of the first restaurants in North Texas to introduce gourmet tacos with unique flavor combinations. The beloved restaurant is bringing back fan favorites from its original menu, such as the Cheeseburger Taco, featuring classic burger ingredients wrapped in a tortilla and served with fries.

Other returning favorites include the OG #9 with grilled chicken, red onion-jalapeño marmalade, crispy sweet potato straws, and Jack cheese. Other popular menu items include the Cowboy Kimchi Taco, which features pork, grilled onions, and crema fresca, and the Portabella Taco, which combines mushrooms, roasted corn, pesto, and sweet potato straws.

Another mouth-watering menu item is The Steakhouse Burger Taco, which is loaded with bacon and crispy fried onions. Guests can also enjoy fresh salads, quesadillas, chips and queso, and a variety of other flavorful tacos. Guests will love the salsa bar to add a little extra kick to their favorite dish.

Tin Star Tacos & Tequila also features a full bar with frozen cocktails, making it a fun spot to grab lunch, enjoy dinner with family, or meet friends for tacos and drinks. Weekend brunch is another addition to the restaurant’s refreshed dining experience.

The comeback is led by Tin Star co-founder and chief executive officer of Reach Hospitality Rich Hicks and operating partner Aaron White, the name behind Nick & Sam’s and Mooyah Burgers.
