Fresh on the heels of ACL Fest George and Willie dropped another huge announcement. The duo of country & western performers will be on hand for the grand opening celebration of the new Moody Center arena on the University of Texas at Austin campus. They will be joined by another Texas favorite country act, the Randy Rogers Band.
All of this is being planned out months in advance as Moody Center undergoes the final stages of construction through the fall, winter, and early spring of 2022. The tickets though are going on sale this month, so if you want to attend this huge event you’ll need to buy the tickets when they go on sale to the General Public on Friday the 22nd of October or risk missing out / having to pay higher prices at secondary markets.
If you don’t want to fight the online traffic for tickets or want a more special experience there will also be ticket and VIP ticket presales before the 22nd of October. American Express card holders can order presale tickets during a special window between Wednesday, October 13th @ 10:00 am and Thursday, October 21st @ 10:00 pm. VIP presale tickets also are being sold during a that same window of time between Wednesday, October 13th @ 10:00 am and Thursday, October 21st @ 10:00 pm. Of course there’s a special presale window for members of the George Strait Fan Club between Friday, October 15th @ 10:00 am and Thursday, October 21st @ 10:00 pm. If you’re a member of the Willie Nelson or Randy Rogers Band fan clubs you also have a special presale ordering window to get tickets between Monday, October 18th @ 10:00 am and Thursday, October 21st @ 10:00 pm.
The announcement of this special performance is being pushed by some of the most elite names in Austin and in Texas music / entertainment across Instagram including El Arroyo and Matthew McConaughey.
