Every year the downtown portion of the San Antonio River Walk lights up for Christmas for what is officially called “Holiday Lights on the River Walk”. We posted photos of last year’s Christmas lights in a popular post that went viral on our Facebook page.

The Christmas lights are part of a wider selection of winter holiday events on the River Walk including a boat parade, luminarias, and boat caroling. Visitors to San Antonio only wanting to view the lights can see them free of charge by walking down the River Walk starting at 5:30 pm every night of the week. You have plenty of time to get your holiday light viewing in too as the lights stay up until early January of next year.
