Get excited, Wylie sports fans! Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, the Louisiana-based sports bar and restaurant concept backed by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, will officially open its newest North Texas location on Monday, August 10, 2026.
The restaurant, located at 906 FM 544 in Wylie, near the intersection of FM 544 and Highway 78, gives Walk-On’s another foothold in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as the brand expands across Texas. The opening of the Wylie location marks the chain’s 20th Texas location and its second restaurant in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Walk-On’s combines the atmosphere of a neighborhood sports bar with a menu heavily influenced by its Louisiana roots. Guests can expect plenty of televisions throughout the restaurant, a full bar, and a large patio built for game days, family dinners, and group gatherings.
Walk-On’s serves a mix of Cajun-inspired dishes, seafood, and familiar American favorites. The lineup includes po’boys, gumbo, fried seafood, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and Louisiana specialties such as boudin balls and fried alligator.
Shareable appetizers range from fried pickles and boneless wings to waffle cheese fries, cheeseburger sliders and venison nachos. Dessert lovers can also find the restaurant’s indulgent bread pudding.
The bar adds another reason to stick around for a game, offering a selection of draft beers, margaritas, and cocktails.

Walk-On’s has a sports-heavy origin story. It started in Baton Rouge in 2003, when former LSU walk-on basketball players Brandon Landry and Jack Warner turned their love of sports and Louisiana food into the restaurant brand. Former New Orleans Saints quarterback and Austin native Drew Brees is a co-owner, while franchise partners include Dak Prescott, Pro Football Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks and Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney.
The grand opening is set for August 10, 2026, with festivities beginning at 10:30 a.m., and Landry, Thomson, Wylie Mayor Matthew Porter, and other community representatives expected to participate. There’s also an incentive to arrive early: the first 100 guests who dine at the restaurant will have an opportunity to win free Walk-On’s for a year.
