San Antonio based H-E-B has been named the top grocery retailer in the United States in a new report released by business research firm dunhumby. This marks the first time H-E-B has been at the top of dunhumby’s annual Retailer Preference Index for Grocery stores and has the Texas-based company beating out Trader Joe’s, Amazon, Albertsons, Sprouts, Walmart, and well… everyone else in the country.
Each year dunhumby produces their Retailer Preference Index by surveying thousands of Americans, determining what matters mast to them in retail grocery stores, and asks them about specific grocery chains. This years report compared 60 grocery retailers across the nation including those that are nationwide like Walmart and Target and more regional chains like Publix, Hy-Vee, and H-E-B. To determine the best chains and what consumer preferences looked like dunhumby surveyed 7,500 Americans.
