The bagel boom in the DFW Metroplex continues, as new bagel shops are popping up all over the area. Dallas bagel veterans opened the Bagel CafƩ in McKinney at 7001 S. Custer Rd. #400. The shop serves New York-style bagels, which are made from scratch every day.

Lisa and Kyriakos Kouzoukas own the bagel shop. They previously owned the well-known Bagel Cafe 21 in Richardson and Bagel Fresh Deli in The Colony. They sold both shops to new ownership over the last few years.

According to the companyā€™s website, all the baking is done in-house with the finest and freshest ingredients. The NY-style bagels are mixed, boiled, and baked, and they sell out quickly. The store offers 17 daily flavors. Customers can buy a single bagel for $2.19, a half dozen for $10.95, and a baker’s dozen for $17.95.

Some of the bagel flavors include blueberry, plain, Asiago, egg, everything, onion, poppy, pumpernickel, and cinnamon raisin. The shop also sells many cream cheese flavors, including plain, garlic herb, jalapeno, vegetable, strawberry, and chipotle. Special rainbow, bright-colored bagels are available only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. They cost about $3 per bagel.

The bagel shop also serves muffins like apple spice, banana walnut, blueberry, chocolate chip, lemon poppy, pistachio, and more. They also offer specialty breakfast sandwiches like the Western with eggs, bacon, cheddar, green and red peppers, red onion, and house-made Chipotle Sauce or the Texan with eggs, bacon, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, and Chipotle sauce. And there are lots more options to fix your bagel cravings.
