Forbes has put out their annual report on the best employers in each state. The list was compiled by surveying thousands of Texans that work for businesses with over 500 employees. In Texas, H-E-B takes the top mark as best employer for 2020, which after what Texans have been through this year and how H-E-B has handled themselves probably isn’t very surprising to most of us.
What might be surprising is that only 40 out of the top 100 employers in Texas are actually based in Texas. The rest are based in various other states with California being home to the second largest number of top employers in Texas.
10 of the top 100 employers in Texas are based in California, 6 are based in Virginia, 3 are from Washington D.C., 5 are based in New York, 5 are based in Illinois, 4 are from Maryland, 2 are based in Washington, 2 are based in Florida, 2 are based in Missouri, and 2 are from Tennessee.
The good news here is that zero of the top 100 employers in Texas are based in Oklahoma.
