Occupying the space on Elm Street in Deep Ellum, Dallas that was formerly the Black Swan Saloon is a new bar called Elm Street Saloon. The dive bar just opened this weekend and showed off the new aesthetics including horse saddle stools, Western imagery, lighted trees, and a massive bench painted to resemble the greatest flag of all time – The Lone Star Flag.
While we can’t recommend you go inside and enjoy this bar just yet due to COVID, the patio looks like a great place to hangout and throw back a Shiner, Lonestar, or Deep Ellum Brewing brew. Unless it gets crowded, it looks like a fairly safe place to get your country saloon drinking on even during COVID. The photos we’ve been sent (see below) show plenty of space for social distancing.
You may want to wait until COVID restrictions are lifted and Texas has reached heard immunity, which could happen during the summer or some time later this year, before you visit this spot. However, for any selfie taking Texans this patio is now an absolute must visit to show off that Texas pride on social media.
Why this is COVID-safe
- The saloon patio is outdoors (no roof) known to be safer than indoors.
- The saloon appears to be abiding by social distancing guidelines.
