Two Dallas bartenders collaborated on a new project in East Dallas, a casual neighborhood bar that they are excited to share with Dallas folks. Saint Valentine, a friendly and fun bar, opened in late November 2023 in Old East Dallas at 4800 Bryan Street, in the space formerly occupied by sandwich chain Top Round. The bar sits across the street from Urbano Cafe.
Saint Valentine is a unique collaboration between two restaurateurs who have run some of Dallasā best cocktail spots. Gabe Sanchez created the Black Swan Saloon that closed in Deep Ellum in 2020 and later worked at Midnight Rambler in downtown Dallas. Ryan Payne, who opened Tiny Victories in Oak Cliff, has also worked at Midnight Rambler. The bar will serve boilermakers and bar bites. It is open Wednesday through Monday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The brand-new bar boasts two patios, an eclectic food menu, and cocktails, starting from $14, that aim to be well-crafted and delicious. Guests can also hang out, relax, and drink a Miller Lite or a Budweiser. Or they can order the Big Booty Trudi, a yummy cocktail that consists of pineapple skin Charanda, lemon, macadamia Orgeat, velvet falernum, and passion fruit.
Peeking at the menu, guests will find a variety of dishes, from hearty sandwiches to fish plates. The menu is a work in progress and will evolve, but it will provide guests with unusual snacks compared to what they can get at other bars. Chef Jordan Edwards’ past gigs include work at Eataly and The Mitchell, Dallas’ most underrated place to eat.
Saint Valentine features two patios. One occupies about half of the space, and the other is around the other side of the building. Sanchez and Payne are bringing in lots of vegetation to make the outdoor spaces more welcoming and inviting.
