The Rô On Oak, a cozy cocktail bar, opened in downtown Roanoke at 320 S Oak Street. The new bar is the town’s first contemporary cocktail bar, and it serves up a big-city vibe in a town with just under 10,000 residents. Roanoke is 32 miles from Dallas. The bar just finished a long soft opening phase that began late last year.
Proprietors Gabriel Miller and Jonathan Condos, originally from Los Angeles, think that people moving to North Texas to work at surrounding corporate headquarters will desire a hot spot to have fun, relax, and create many memories. The Ro is their first bar together, though they already see the opportunity to open more high-end cocktail bars in similar Texas towns.
Drinks are named after rock ‘n’ roll music hits. Cocktails start at $10, and customers can try several options. A mocktail On the Road Again is made with Topo Chico with a splash of cranberry, and Lime and Mint Leaf. For something sweet, try the Enter Sandman made with Scotch, cherry liqueur, Sweet Vermouth, and Flamed Orange.
Hungry guests can order small bites like deviled eggs and chili garlic shrimp. The charcuterie boards offer a delicious sampling of meats, cheeses, and accoutrements. Customers can also find flatbreads, such as tomato basil mozzarella.
The hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to midnight.
