Two new restaurant concepts opened in Deep Ellum recently, bringing a mezcal and tequila bar and a place with Tex-Asian food among a sanctuary of palms.

Ghost Donkey and Palma stem from Flagship Restaurant Group, an Omaha-based hospitality company that manages Blue Sushi Sake Grill and Plank Provisions, among many other restaurants. The two restaurants offer a shared setting, but with their own unique spaces and menus.

Ghost Donkey began in New York City with locations in Las Vegas, Denver, Phoenix, Omaha, Chicago, Auckland – New Zealand, Melbourne – Australia, and Dallas. With an extensive mezcal and tequila list, it serves unique, curated cocktails like the Altos Paloma with altos plata, lime, and grapefruit soda, the Mushroom Margarita, and the Stealth Margarita, to name a few. There are also delicious nachos, tacos, quesadillas, shrimp ceviche, and esquites.

Palma is an oasis that offers share platters like crag Rangoon, sushi nachos, and Thai curry fries. Guests can get a sushi platter, and a platter filled with crab rangoon, hatch chili queso, salted charred edamame, popcorn chicken, and fries. Fresh salads offer a lighter fare, such as the house salad and Caesar salad. Sushi is a hit with items like spicy tuna maki, shrimp tempura rolls, and yellowtail habanero. Customers can enjoy lively music with a sprawling patio.
