Hump’s BBQ is now open at 2503 W. Pioneer Parkway in Pantego, taking over the longtime home of Jambo’s BBQ. For nearly 45 years, this wood-paneled space has been known for brisket, ribs, and Texas-sized portions, and Hump’s is keeping that tradition alive with its own soulful spin.

Owner Antoinne Ivory, a real estate broker-turned-barbecue pitmaster and gourmet sauce maker, relocated Hump’s after a fire destroyed his original South Dallas location.

Ivory’s menu mixes down-home classics with bold, creative twists. Guests will find soft, smoky brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and half-chickens, but the showstopper might be the giant turkey legs stuffed with mac and cheese, Cajun pasta, smoked sausage, or greens and filthy rice.

Sides like collard greens, green beans, baked beans, potato salad, and filthy rice complete the experience. Every plate is served with Ivory’s custom blend of spices and Hump’s special gourmet sauces, available in regular, spicy, and sweet. He began bottling them in 2018 at the Dallas Farmers Market, and they have a devoted following.

The restaurant is named in honor of Ivory’s grandfather, Alton “Hump” Humphrey Sr., a World War II Army mess cook who became known for feeding friends, family, and neighbors with warmth and generosity. That same spirit of hospitality lives on at Hump’s BBQ today.
