Rodeo Cold, a nostalgic nod to 1980s Texas dive bars, opens on Ross Avenue on December 14. This will be a uniquely Dallas, blue collar dive bar with an Austin backyard concept, situated at 3826 Ross Avenue in downtown Dallas.
The 1980’s inspired tavern boasts more than 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space and features a spacious patio, a stage for live performances, and a large yard for games and events.
The concept was created by Robert Drummond and brothers Ian and Eric Fletcher. Their father, Stan Fletcher, holds a piece of local history as one of the first bartenders hired at the original Chiliās on Greenville Avenue in 1978.
Come hungry and thirsty as this menu is designed to satisfy any preference with its Texas-inspired classic menu. For appetizers, some delicious items are the wings, deep fried beef balls, and Wagyu chili. Larger meals include The Heifer that includes a Wagyu smash patty, cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, red onion, and rodeo sauce drizzle. Customers can order a Chili Heifer with the same ingredients as The Heifer and house chili added to the mix. Try The Yellow Belly with grilled chicken, bacon, and avocado sandwich, and pepper jack cheese. Salads are on the menu, too, and don’t skip dessert. Little Debbie Does Dallas includes battered and deep-fried oatmeal cream pie with house cream drizzle.
The drink menu features a variety of cocktails, beer, shots, and boilermakers inspired by classic Texas flavors. For example, The Man from Waco, offers a playful twist, combining Dr Pepper with vodka and a hint of vanilla.
