The new owners of the Bird Dog Pit BBQ recently took over a 50-year-old barbecue restaurant in Austin’s Brentwood neighborhood at 4707 Burnet Road. The original brick pit was built in the 1960s, and the building was constructed around it. Now as part of the Bird Dog Pit BBQ, Austin BBQ gains a new gem while delivering that signature pit flavor.

Rudy Rivera runs the Bird Dog Pit BBQ. Inspired by his familyā€™s love for cooking, he studied at Le Cordon Bleu and worked in top spots like Wink Restaurant & Wine Bar, and even as butcher at The Inn at Little Washington. With over 15 years of experience, Rudy is now bringing his talent and heart to Bird Dog Pit BBQ.
