A Japanese restaurant brand known globally for its sizzling hot-plate meals is bringing a unique interactive dining experience to Frisco.

Pepper Lunch, a fast-casual concept that lets diners cook their own meals at the table, is set to open its first Texas restaurant at 9180 Warren Parkway in Frisco, near Preston Road, in mid-March.

The wow factor for Pepper Lunch is that, instead of food arriving fully cooked, ingredients come out on a scorching-hot iron plate that stays hot long enough for guests to finish cooking the dish themselves.

Each plate is heated to around 500 degrees, allowing diners to mix and grill their ingredients right at the table. Orders are placed through digital kiosks, and the raw ingredients arrive ready to be cooked, stirred, and seasoned using the restaurant’s signature sauces, creating a fully customizable cooking process.

The chain is best known for its beef pepper rice, a sizzling combination of thinly sliced beef, rice, sweet corn, green onions, and butter that is cooked together on a hot plate.

The menu also features a range of other options, including teriyaki chicken and beef plates, steak dishes, seafood selections, Japanese curry meals, pasta dishes, and vegetarian options.

Pepper Lunch began in Tokyo in 1994, as a unique do-it-yourself teppanyaki restaurant where every customer became the artist of their own meal. It has since grown into a major international restaurant brand with hundreds of locations across Asia, Australia, and the globe.

The brand has begun expanding in the United States. The Frisco restaurant will mark the company’s first location in Texas. If everything goes smoothly, North Texans may soon see more sizzling iron plates arriving at tables across the Metroplex.
