Tinie’s, the Mexican-inspired South Main Street restaurant named after owner Sarah Castillo’s mother, has gotten a second chance. Since opening its doors in a beautifully restored historic building, Tinie’s has been defined by challenges and resilience. Now, the restaurant is stepping into a long-awaited reset, fueled by new leadership, a reworked menu, a revamped restaurant, and a renewed sense of purpose. Tinie’s soft rollout began on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

From the beginning, Tinie’s aimed to be more than just another neighborhood spot. Castillo envisioned a place inspired by authentic flavors, warmth, and everyday elegance of Mexico City. But shortly after opening, the restaurant business slowed considerably with the COVID-19 shutdown. Everything fell into survival mode.

As the dust finally settled, Castillo saw an opportunity to pause, reassess, and rebuild the restaurant the way she originally imagined. At the center of the restart is Adrian Burciaga, a respected figure in Fort Worth’s dining community who has stepped in to guide Tinie’s into its next era. Castillo contacted Burciaga, a longtime friend and collaborator whose background in hospitality and operations made him the right partner to begin again.

The goal was to stabilize the restaurant’s foundation, elevate service standards, strengthen the team, and give Tinie’s a better chance to develop. The most valuable changes are happening in the kitchen. Tinie’s is welcoming a new chef whose work is rooted in tradition and regional Mexican cooking. Drawing from ancestral techniques and deep culinary study, the revamped menu will reflect the restaurant’s Mexico City inspiration.

Upstairs, Tinie’s Escondite bar is focused on showcasing agave spirits through a focused mezcal and tequila program, paired with drinks and bites designed for lingering conversations rather than late-night chaos.

Another notable update is the transformation of the downstairs patio into a greenhouse-style space, allowing it to function year-round. The result is a flexible area well-suited for private dinners, celebrations, and events.

For Fort Worth diners, it’s an invitation to rediscover a familiar name and experience it the way it was always meant to be.
