Blue Bell is bringing back another fan-favorite flavor, and this one sounds like it belongs in the freezer before summer comes to an end.
The Brenham, Texas-based ice cream maker has announced the return of Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream, a seasonal flavor combining rich cheesecake ice cream with chunks of cheesecake, strawberries, and swirls of strawberry sundae sauce.
If that sounds more like an entire dessert shoved into an ice cream carton than a normal ice cream flavor, that’s probably the point.
Blue Bell Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream
According to Blue Bell, Strawberry Cheesecake features a cheesecake-flavored ice cream base loaded with actual cheesecake pieces and strawberries, then finished with strawberry sundae sauce swirled throughout the carton.
The flavor isn’t new to Blue Bell fans. Strawberry Cheesecake has appeared in the company’s rotating lineup before and has developed enough of a following that its return is already getting plenty of attention from ice cream fans.
Blue Bell first began making ice cream in Brenham back in 1907, and more than a century later the Texas company is still regularly introducing new flavors and digging into its freezer to bring old favorites back.
Where to Get Blue Bell Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream
Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream is returning to grocery store freezers anywhere Blue Bell products are sold. The returning flavor is being offered in half-gallon containers.
There is one catch: Blue Bell says Strawberry Cheesecake is only available for a limited time.
Blue Bell hasn’t announced exactly how long the flavor will stick around, so Texans who have been waiting for its return probably shouldn’t count on finding it in the freezer aisle forever.
Considering we’re still dealing with August temperatures in Texas, a half gallon of cheesecake ice cream packed with strawberries sounds like a pretty reasonable way to pretend summer isn’t going anywhere just yet.
