An Italian-inspired café, Pappalecco, will settle into the heart of Historic Downtown Plano in early January. With roots in San Diego, the café will officially open its first Texas location on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m., marking the brand’s long-anticipated arrival in the Lone Star State.

To kick things off, the café will celebrate its grand opening weekend with 50% off all menu items, excluding alcoholic beverages, giving guests an easy excuse to sample more than one indulgence.

Pappalecco has built its reputation on creative coffee drinks, house-made gelato, and European-style café fare. Plano visitors can expect signature creations like the Marocchino, a layered blend of espresso, Nutella and velvety milk foam, along with the Caffè Freddo, which combines cold brew coffee with gelato for a refreshing twist. Classic Italian desserts also take center stage, including affogatos, which is gelato topped with a hot shot of espresso, as well as croissants generously filled with gelato, all made fresh on-site. Experience cappuccino the Italian way and try some Nutella muffin with it or an almond tortino.

Beyond the menu, the café’s modern, minimalist space is designed to feel welcoming and slow-paced, a place where friends can linger over coffee, families can share dessert, and neighbors can gather throughout the day. The Plano location continues a tradition shaped by Italian café culture and more than 20 years of brand history, blending old-world inspiration with contemporary design.
