Texas isnā€™t the only state that can make impressive burgers. Try South Carolina. A South Carolina-based burger concept is making its mark in Grapevine, Texas, with the opening of Bohemian Bull, founded in Charleston in 2013.

Satisfy your burger cravings and swing by the new location at 1112 W. Northwest Highway, near historic downtown Grapevine in the former BoBo China space. The husband-and-wife team Dennis Johnson and Sonja Singer left corporate jobs to bring the burger joint to Texas.

The restaurant serves freshly prepared meals with ingredients prepared by their staff in-house, including a vast selection of toppings, sides, and combinations that can be customized.

Six Boho burger options are ground-in-house, hand-spanked burgers made from a blend of Black Angus brisket and chuck and served on a potato roll with your choice of side. You can choose a bacon cheeseburger, a blackened burger with blue cheese, a veggie with black bean, a two-patties burger, or a build-your-own with sauces such as beer cheese, Mexican crema, and sausage gravy.

Sandwiches are also delicious, such as cheesesteaks, fried chicken sandwiches, and pork dumpling sandwiches, to name a few.

The menu features selections with Southern influences, a way to honor Charleston roots. You will love fried green tomatoes, bacon jam, fried shrimp, pimento cheese deviled eggs, fried mac and cheese bites, and fried okra.

If burgers aren’t your thing, you can find wings and chicken tenders, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. Entrees range from fish and chips to steak frites with tenderloin and garlic herb fries.

Desserts include a strawberry shortcake, a brownie sundae, and doughnut holes with vanilla ice cream.

The drink menu is something to see. Bohemian Bull serves lots of bourbon and whiskey with half a dozen small-batch bourbon cocktails, including a single barrel mint julep, whiskey sour, and “Mom’s Juice,” a bourbon twist on a mule with Makers Mark, ginger beer, mint syrup, and lime, also available in a frozen option. Other specialty cocktails include strawberry frosĆ©, honey basil suckle with vodka, and a key lime margarita with butterfly pea powder and a tasty graham cracker crumb rim.

On Wednesdays, burgers are half-price, and tacos are a top pick on Tuesdays. The inviting space boasts a rainbow-colored bull mural, a longhorn skull at the entrance, and a 1,600 square-foot crushed granite-covered patio with festive string lights and picnic tables. And remember your dogs, they are always welcome.
