375 Chicken ‘N Fries, a fast-casual concept known for halal fried chicken, loaded fries, and juicy chicken sandwiches, will open its newest location in Denton in the next few weeks. The restaurant will take over the former Slap Burger space on Avenue A, bringing the growing brand right into Denton’s college community.

The family-owned concept started in New York City in 2016 as a small fry stand before expanding its menu and building a following around fried, hand-breaded chicken. Its unique name, “375,” refers to the 375-degree cooking temperature the restaurant uses to make chicken crispy on the outside while keeping it juicy inside.

Chicken is the star of the show, but 375 Chicken ‘N Fries doesn’t exactly keep things simple. The menu includes crispy chicken sandwiches, tenders, wings, and bite-sized popcorn chicken that can be mixed with a selection of house-made sauces. Diners can also dig into loaded fries and mac and cheese topped with fried chicken, making this a spot geared more toward serious comfort-food cravings than a basic chicken-and-fries meal.

The brand offers more than a dozen in-house sauces, and its chicken is halal-certified and prepared without added preservatives or artificial additives.

The Denton restaurant is part of the company’s growing push into Texas. A location recently opened in Arlington, giving North Texans another introduction to a brand that began more than 1,500 miles away in Manhattan.

Once the Denton location arrives, locals will have one more place to indulge in fried chicken, from popcorn chicken to tenders.
