DFW native, automotive icon, and celebrity Richard Rawlings is the man behind Gas Monkey Icehouse, which opens Tuesday, May 6, at Grandscape in The Colony.
Rawlings, the legendary founder of Gas Monkey Garage and star of Discovery Channel’s Fast N’ Loud, created the new venture Gas Monkey Icehouse in collaboration with Reach Hospitality (PieTap, Black Tap, Evelyn, and The Mexican). The partnership fuses Rawlings’ larger-than-life personality and vision with a high-class expert team of hospitality pros. Rawlings will serve as owner and brand ambassador, and Reach will deliver the culinary expertise and quality service.
The more than 12,000-square-foot indoor space and over 3,000-square-foot outdoor courtyard can seat more 340 guests. The huge space features two indoor and outdoor bars, a massive custom neon sign centerpiece in the courtyard, and an Alamo-inspired façade.
Reviving the Gas Monkey brand, the exciting and appealing menu boasts burgers and pizzas, paired with 28 ice-cold beers on tap and signature cocktails. Customers will find popular items like Flying Monkey Wings, which are bone-in wings that come with a choice of buffalo, lemon pepper, whiskey BBQ, honey sriracha, or “Richard’s Way” Gas Monkey Skidmark Sauce. Try the Garage Beer Battered Chicken Tenders that are hand-battered in Gas Monkey’s Garage Beer, served with comeback sauce. Burger lovers will enjoy the Smash’d Burger served with double smash patties with American cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, jalapeños, and secret sauce. There’s pizza as well like the Garage Pizza, which is a variety of pies, including The Gorilla with San Marzano sauce, pepperoni, Texas taco meat, bacon, mozzarella, ricotta, and spicy honey.

With ample TVs and VIP spaces for private events, the Icehouse will also thrill and entertain. Fans can expect pop-up car shows, live events and special programming throughout the year.
Gas Monkey Icehouse will also sell limited-edition merchandise to commemorate the launch. Fans can purchase everything from t-shirts and hats to collectible items with personalized graphics. In true characteristic flair, this limited-edition collection, which is exclusively available at the Icehouse, combines the essence of Texas with the heart of Gas Monkey.
Gas Monkey Icehouse will open for dinner service on Tuesday, May 6 with lunch service launching Thursday, May 15 and weekend brunch starting Saturday, May 17.
