Sad that New Year’s is over? We are too! That’s why we’re keeping the party going by attending Houston’s Lunar New Year festival later this month.

On January 25th, the Chinese Community Center of Houston is throwing a massive party to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Rat. There are going to be some amazing cultural performances at this festival, including Tai Chi demonstrations, lion dances, and dragon dances like the one shown above.

In years past, the festival has also featured talented Polynesian dancers, Chinese Opera, and an unforgettable mariachi band that played Chinese songs. We definitely hope to see those performers back again this year!

After you’re done enjoying all the live music and dancing, you can check out paintings made by local artists, play some games, or hit up one of the festival’s food vendors for some delicious street food. You’ll get to try everything from Afghan kebabs to Korean fried chicken and leave feeling full and satisfied!

Admission to this festival is completely free, but make sure you bring some money with you. You don’t want to miss out on all the incredible street food!
