After years of operating in various temporary spots, Picadera, a new Dominican street food joint, has finally found a place to call home. Picadera, led by owner and chef Michael Tavarez, celebrated the grand opening of its first permanent kitchen last weekend inside Trinity Cider in Dallas’ Deep Ellum.
Picadera has built a loyal following through ghost kitchens, pop-ups, and even at some spaces at the State Fair of Texas, where Tavarez won the 2024 Best Taste Savory award for his Dominican Fritura Dog. Now, with a dedicated space, fans can enjoy his bold, flavorful creations. Pair award-winning Dominican Street Food with Trinity Cider’s Delicious Hard Ciders made in-house for the perfect match.

The menu is crafted with authentic Dominican spices and fresh, high-quality ingredients to bring dishes that are both traditional and approachable. Try the three-golden fried garlic tostone cups filled with stewed chicken, pickled red cabbage, grated queso tropical, cilantro, and secret sauce.
Picadera’s iconic dish is the Chimi Burger, which is famous on the streets of the Dominican Republic and in New York City. The chimi burger’s six-ounce patty is marinated and seasoned with onions, lots of peppers, imported Dominican oregano, garlic powder, then topped with pickled red onion, slaw, tomatoes, and a mayo-ketchup secret sauce.
