Fort Worth’s culinary scene is about to get spicier when it welcomes back a familiar face with a bold new concept. Acclaimed chef Casey Thompson, known for her appearances as a contestant on Top Chef and Guy Fieri’s Tournament of Champions, is returning to Texas to be the lead chef at the Duchess, a stylish new restaurant inside the soon-to-open Nobleman Hotel in the historic South Main Village district. The $26.5 million hotel is part of the Hilton Tapestry Collection.
Located at 503 Bryan Avenue, the Nobleman is housed in a beautifully restored former firehouse that was built in 1911, blending Fort Worth history with modern design and luxury. The hotel is set to officially open on April 22, with Duchess opening just a few days thereafter.
Thompson, who once managed the kitchen at Fort Worth’s beloved Brownstone in the West 7th area, has spent recent years earning accolades on the West Coast. Most recently, she led the culinary team at Folktable in Sonoma, California, a Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant known for its farm-forward cuisine.
Now, back in Fort Worth, Thompson brings an ingredient-driven approach to Duchess, which will house 56 seats. The menu will offer New American cuisine with a Texas influence, including steaks, pasta, and seafood. The menu will showcase seasonal ingredients with a bold Texas twist, featuring creative dishes like truffle butter gnocchi, red snapper paired with clams, a signature burger, and perfectly seared steaks finished with decadent sauces.
