Italian food lovers across Dallas will be pleased to hear about a new grocery market called Ari’s Pantry in Oak Cliff at 1307 W. Davis Street. This Winnetka Heights shop will sell pasta, tomato sauces, olive oils, and other imported Italian products. The storeās grand opening is on Saturday, December 16, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The shop is a dream come true for store owner Ari Lowenstein, a caterer who loves all things Italian, especially the cuisine. The small Italian general store offers authenticity and a local friendly vibe, while focusing on recipe-ready popular Italian staples. The shop will also offer a considerable quantity of pasta, more than 30 types, and homemade tomato sauces. Plus, guests will find Lowenstein’s recipe cards and personal guidance descriptions through cooking process. Lowenstein believes some of the best Italian recipes only have three or four simple ingredients versus lots of ingredients.
Lowenstein lived in Rhode Island for many years and in Italy for ten years, where he learned Italian and how to cook. He’s also lived in Israel, England, Ireland, and Slovenia. He moved to Oak Cliff this past summer.
In addition to items imported from Italy, the shop will carry products from Dallas vendors, such as Peaberry Coffee and CocoAndre chocolates. Other products sold will be food-themed jigsaw puzzles, gift baskets, and other fun items.
The 600-square-foot space previously occupied by a CBD shop was renovated with period lights and the original tin ceiling.
Lowenstein keeps busy as he also owns a catering service, teaches cooking classes, and fundraises for World Central Kitchen to provide meals globally.
