Dallas is getting a taste of the world’s first and only Michelin-starred taquería, El Califa de León. The taqueria is bringing legendary Mexico City flavors to Dallas for a 14-day culinary pop-up at 6501 Hillcrest Ave., running October 15–28, 2025.

Following a successful Arizona stop in May, this Dallas pop-up promises an authentic taste of Mexico City’s street food culture, featuring the taquería’s famous Taco Gaonera with thinly sliced, marinated beef tenderloin grilled to perfection and served simply with onions, cilantro, lime, and salsa.

This Dallas debut stems from a collaboration between GringoApp.com and Mexico City Tourism, featuring how gastronomy drives cultural tourism, where taco tours are among become a popular attraction.

This culinary superstar pop-up will focus on a to-go and stand-and-eat format. However, a select few Michelin Star Chef’s Table reservations will be available for guests wanting an up-close dining experience.

Located just south of Snider Plaza in the former Red Stix space, the pop-up invites guests to savor a rare culinary moment that blends tradition, innovation, and Michelin-star quality.
