With a focus on those who shape our communities and dedicate their lives to education, Whataburger® is honoring educators this week for National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5–9). The WhataTeacher initiative, which was launched in 2022, honors teachers with a free breakfast and classroom funding as a token of gratitude for their daily dedication.
According to the recent press release on Whataburger’s website, from Monday to Friday (May 5-9), teachers and school staff can go to any participating Whataburger location between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to enjoy a free breakfast entrée. Educators and school staff can order any breakfast item, including the classic Taquito with cheese, the savory Breakfast on a Bun, or the fan-favorite Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. The release mentions that to receive a free breakfast, teachers need to present a valid school ID when ordering in person to dine in, drive through, or take out. The offer is only valid at a participating Whataburger restaurant, not through online orders via Whataburger.com or through the Whataburger app.
In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Whataburger is awarding $1,000 classroom grants to 75 educators, totaling $75,000 in funding going to local students across its 16-state footprint. The WhataTeacher grants recognize incredible teachers who go the extra mile to make a real difference in their schools and communities. According to the press release, since launching the WhataTeacher initiative in 2022, Whataburger has donated more $160,000 in classroom grants.
WhataTeacher grants are part of Whataburger’s Feeding Student Success program, which supports education and fights food insecurity. The initiative includes scholarships, college resource rooms, and school partnerships, all aimed at helping students succeed and recognizing the educators who support them.
