Anchor Bar, headquartered in Buffalo, New York, officially opened a new location near Frisco Square on December 15, 2025, bringing iconic wings, classic bar fare, and decades-old legacy to North Texas.

For wing lovers, this isn’t just another sports bar opening. According to the company’s website, in 1964 at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York, Teressa Bellissimo created Buffalo wings after frying chicken wings and tossing them in a secret sauce for a late-night group of hungry guests. The wings were an instant success, quickly becoming a menu staple and eventually a worldwide sensation. Anchor Bar’s original recipe remains a closely guarded secret and is still credited with producing some of the best wings in the world.

Now that same tradition is being served in Frisco, using the identical method that made the original famous crispy wings and signature sauces, ranging in heat from honey garlic, the mildest, to ghost ship, the hottest sauce.

The Frisco location sits just steps from the National Soccer Hall of Fame, placing it in the middle of one of the city’s most walkable and vibrant areas. Inside, guests will find a familiar and welcoming sports-bar setup with plenty of TVs, a full bar, and flexible seating. A patio and private dining space make it well-suited for game days, celebrations, family outings, or casual nights out with friends.

While wings are the main attraction, the menu extends beyond baskets of wings and drumsticks. Guests can expect a lineup of comfort foods, including burgers, pizza, salads, and pasta dishes, along with a beer selection that focuses on crowd-pleasing drafts and bottles.

Frisco joins a growing list of Texas cities that now host an Anchor Bar, reflecting the brand’s steady expansion across the state.
