On Sunday, January 19, 2025, The Giving Table will hold a special dinner in Dallas to raise funds for Mercy Chefs, a nonprofit organization preparing to assist communities in Los Angeles impacted by the recent wildfires that occurred on January 7. In the midst of this crisis, Mercy Chefs is on-site, providing hot, nutritious meals to support families in need.
This Sunday more than a dozen chefs will make a family-style dinner to raise money for Los Angeles. Tickets are $125 per person for the five-course dinner that will take place at 1340 Inwood Road. There’s room for 75 guests and the evening starts at 5:30 p.m.
Mercy Chefs provides professionally prepared, restaurant-quality meals for people in need, with a goal of serving three hot meals a day. Founded in 2006 by Gary LeBlanc after Hurricane Katrina, the organization’s mission is to feed those affected by disasters, as well as those living in underserved communities.
The Giving Table is the brainchild of Sharon Van Meter, a seasoned Dallas restaurateur and chef, along with Katherine Clapner of Dude Sweet Chocolate. Their mission is to bring the local hospitality industry together to support communities in times of crisis. By organizing dinners, they create opportunities to raise essential funds while fostering community spirit.
Local chefs participating include Andrea Shackelford, Anastacia Quinones-Pittman, Brandon Moore, Chris Patrick, Dunia Borga, Eduardo Osorio, Emporium Pies, Jared Harms, Jay Valley, Jeffrey Hobbs, Jennie Kelley, Katherine Clapner, Matt Balke, Matt McCallister, Noah Hester, RJ Yoakum, Samir Dhurandhar, Sharon Van Meter, and Tim Lavender.
