Dallas has gone Greek with the launch of the new Avra Estiatorio, the New York-born Greek fine dining hotspot. The restaurant opened its first Lone Star location at the Hotel Crescent Court in Uptown Dallas on September 19, 2025.

The 14,000-square-foot stunner boasts The Conservatory, a glass-walled café wrapped in greenery that feels part indoor garden and part chic terrace.

The menu is all about fresh, craveable eats like flaky spanakopita, perfectly charred halloumi, juicy souvlaki skewers, and even sashimi. There are many choices of just-caught fish waiting to be enjoyed, such as black sea bass alongside other Mediterranean treasures like fagri from the Aegean, lithrini, and wild branzino.

A hallmark of the Avra experience is choosing your fish directly from the ice display. From there, the preparation involves delicate carpaccios kissed with micro-herbs and olive oil, bright ceviche tossed with gigante beans, or whole fish grilled over smoky charcoal or encased in a crust of sea salt.

Vegetables and cheeses take center stage too, adding a delicious, fresh flavor. The classic horiatiki salad bursts with sun-ripened tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, and creamy feta, while warm dishes like spinach rice and golden-baked saganaki cheese showcase the heartier side of Greek cooking. The restaurant showcases wild oregano and golden olive oil from family farms in the Peloponnese, and saganaki, halloumi, and feta from cheesemakers in Greece’s mountain villages.

Traditional desserts like olive oil and walnut cake, honey-soaked baklava, and silky custards are baked fresh each day. The French vanilla ice cream, speckled with Tahitian vanilla beans, remains a popular dessert selection.

The restaurant’s kitchens are stocked with goods from small-scale producers in Greece and across the Mediterranean, balanced by partnerships with local purveyors. Fishermen in Southern Europe deliver wild-caught seafood weekly, such as branzino from Southern Spain, fagri from the Aegean, and Dover sole from the North Sea. Lamb comes from pastures in Australia, and beef is hand-selected from boutique ranches across the U.S.

Grab friends and loved ones, order a little of everything, and get ready to raise a glass. Dallas officially has a new Greek obsession, and it’s got Uptown buzzing with delight.
