Ice cream lovers can now try a yummy new flavor from Blue Bell® — the A&W® Root Beer Float Ice Cream, which landed in stores just a few days ago. The brand-new flavor can be found in stores where Blue Bell products are sold across 23 states, including Texas.

According to the Blue Bell website, the A&W Root Beer Float is a creamy vanilla ice cream mixed together with an A&W Root Beer flavored sherbet. Inspired from the classic root beer float, this flavor is available in half gallon and pint sizes through 2025.

The Blue Bell press release mentioned that the new flavor was highly requested after the release of the Dr Pepper® Float Ice Cream last year.

Blue Bell has a unique history. Some local businessmen in Brenham, Texas, founded the Brenham Creamery Company in 1907 to produce butter from surplus cream that local farmers supplied. Blue Bell was created when the creamery started producing ice cream a few years later, delivering it to nearby homes using a horse-drawn cart. Following the local Texas bluebell wildflower, the company renamed itself Blue Bell Creameries in 1930. Before Blue Bell started concentrating solely on producing ice cream in 1958, butter was a main product.
