PR Access

PR Agencies and Publicists,

You have written an amazing press release about your client in Texas doing something awesome. The problem is you are not quite sure what press release service will get the most bang, what media editors and producers are using to find good story tips. You and your clients spend the money to push out the release through whichever system you are most comfortable with and then you get to work messaging your media contacts working to convince them that you’ve got a great story worth writing about. That’s where things get a little hairy, some of your contacts were using work provided emails and phone numbers and they’ve moved from publication to publication. You also know that most publications are not covering stories that do not have a lot of sensationalism or brand recognition already. In the end your client gets some coverage for their good deed, but not as much as you were hoping.

There’s an endemic problem in local / regional media today. You either have access to the right people at the right place at the right time or you write the world’s best press release, pay out the nose, and cross your fingers for the best. Or, you do both.

What if there was a better way?

At Texas is Life we want to tell stories about the great, amazing, inspiring, inventive, and awesome parts of Texas. We love to write about small businesses and statewide brands doing great things like H-E-B’s commitment to emergency food service or Gallery Furniture in Houston finding new ways to help their customers. We love to hear about local celebrities doing something cool or doing their part to make society better. We often find these stories from social media or other media outlets and increasingly from great PR firms and publicists like you.

We tried opening up to allow everyone to pitch us story ideas, you can guess how well that went. Within hours our form was spammed to death with SEO services from India, Nigerian Princes looking for their long lost brothers, and some umm “adult” materials, along with phishing scams galore.

As a small (but fast-growing!) media brand we can’t sift through all of that junk easily to find the diamonds, so instead we devised a new deal, a new way for you to reach out media outlet lightning fast and it just might shake the foundations of the media establishment as we know it – ok, it might be a very small shake.

Well call it the Texas PR Pass.

A Texas PR Pass is a yearly subscription for you or your PR Agency that gives you DIRECT access to pitch stories to our editorial team and writing staff through a dedicated form. These pitches get priority editorial reviews AND responses from our team, so even if we don’t cover the story that you pitch you will at least know why. There are no limits to pitching either, unlimited numbers of pitches allow you to send us as many story ideas as you want without paying anything extra.

Spam our pitch inbox with all of your great story ideas – we are here for it!

There are no fees for an individual review, no fees for publication, and we absolutely do not charge a fee for including a link to your client. These are not sponsoreds stories and there are no guarantees we will publish the story you pitch. You only pay the one-time annual subscription fee. We do not simply republish your submission either, but instead use it to craft a great and compelling story for our readers.

Speaking of our readers right now our brand reaches between 5.3 million and 8 million Texans each month via Facebook. That’s 5 to 8 million eyeballs reviewing the story headline and imagery. Our articles get anywhere from 20,000 to 250,000 reads each too and our readership is growing every day as more and more Texans seek out good, wholesome, and great news about Texas.

The Texas PR Pass program is highly selective.

We are not taking just anyone in this program to make money. We only want to work with the best PR agencies and publicists representing the best our state has to offer, that are as committed to great story telling as we are and that want to help us provide a welcome escape, a haven for all Texans to enjoy.

There is no application fee, fill out the form below to apply for your Texas PR Pass. If accepted you’ll be sent details on how to setup your annual subscription and how to start pitching stories.

Stories submitted via the Texas PR Pass program still have to meet our editorial guidelines.
