Hey Texans get some fresh strawberries for snacking on and spend an enjoyable day with your significant other or your kids.
It’s an experience few folks get, going to a farm and picking their own fresh fruit. This one-of-a-kind event is happening at Froberg’s Fruit and Vegetable Farm in Alvin, Texas down south of Houston.
The strawberry pickin’ starts at 9am on Saturday the 27th of January (that’s tomorrow for most of y’all reading this) and runs until 4:30pm or until there are no more strawberries for pickin’. According to comments on their Facebook post, they might also have strawberry picking going on on January 28th if they don’t sell out on Saturday so make sure to check their page if you can’t make Saturday but want to give this a try.
You need to bring a few things to get started including a Froberg’s Farm Bucket which they sell onsite for $2 each, but you can bring one from their past events if you have been before. You also need to bring some shoes or boots that can get muddy since it’s been raining quite a bit in that area and it’s a little muddy.
Entry to the event is $3 and you’ll pay $5 / lb for all the strawberries you pick. There is no cost for parking.
There’s also a small grocery market on site where you can buy fresh produce from the farm directly and pick up some delicious baked goods from their bakery.
