Dallasites, meet your next taco obsession. La Taquería opens in late August at 8410 Harry Hines Blvd., promising bold and authentic flavors just minutes from Dallas Love Field.
Marco Borraz, a Chiapas, Mexico native, created the concept after a career path of washing dishes at Texas Roadhouse and mixing cocktails at The Joule. Borraz also managed at El Bolero and Whiskey Cake. In 2017, he became an owner at Taboo Lounge in the Design District, first as a partner and eventually as sole proprietor after the pandemic. He later launched The Jungle, an after-hours spot with late-night bites, but school zone restrictions forced him to think of other business ventures.
La Taquería is his new beginning. This lively, counter-service taco shop is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The spacious 3,500-square-foot restaurant seats 250 with a design inspired by colorful Mexican street food culture. Bright murals and a welcoming atmosphere set the tone.
At La Taquería, guests place their orders at the bar, then catch the cooking action on a live kitchen feed before landing at the table. Alongside familiar favorites like carne asada, al pastor, and chorizo, diners can explore specialties rarely seen in Dallas. Guests can enjoy special dishes like trompo sirloin tacos, a sizzling trend from Mexico. Another showstopper is La Cochinada, a bold bolillo sandwich stacked with every meat on the menu, modeled after a Mexico City street-food classic. Rounding out the spread are quesadillas de tinga, a vegetarian medley of mushrooms and poblano peppers, and house-made tortillas crafted fresh each day.
