East Dallas has a fresh spot to grab a drink, sing your favorite tunes, and bite into a mouth-watering fried chicken sandwich. Rising Tides, the new bar and restaurant taking over the former Royal Pour on Garland Road, is officially open and gaining a strong fan base.
At the helm is Alex Fletcher, a veteran of the Dallas bar scene and founder of Shaken + Stirred Hospitality, known for its work with Henryās Majestic and Punch Bowl Social. Fletcher took over the space in mid-August and has updated the old restaurant with a fresh coat of paint, and soon new furnishings, arcade games, and extra seating will be added. Thereās still a big stage, now primed for karaoke and live music, plus a pool table and a sleek bar ready to serve creative cocktails, such as the Police and Thieves with gin, strawberry reduction, celery, and citrus. Customers will also find beer, wine, and more.
This cocktail dive barās menu will offer brunch plates like chorizo chilaquiles (weekends, 11 a.m.ā3 p.m.), alongside new house specials, including a fried chicken sandwich, a double smash burger, and wings tossed in sauces like Nashville hot, Gochujang barbecue, or lemon pepper. The kitchen plans to offer more dishes soon.
