Presenting a new twist on cereal and ice cream is the latest lounge called The Spelled Milk, which recently debuted in Dallasā€™ Bishop Arts District at 712 W. Davis Street. Customers visiting the new restaurant will notice the relaxed, fun-filled cereal-themed mural on the storefront. Once inside, guests will notice a fun, creative, vivid, and welcoming atmosphere filled with tons of cereal.

The Spelled Milk is a cereal lover’s dream. The place offers 100-plus cereal brands, plus a retail area with all things cereal, founded by partners Michael Goode and Kiana HernĆ”ndez. The owners have created a game-changing cereal and ice cream bar that brings back some nostalgic feelings from cereals loved growing up, and that brought satisfaction and comfort on busy mornings.

Customers can buy cereal by the bowl, the box, or via a cereal-flavored milkshake. Their menu includes cereals from the United States and from around the world. You can find familiar brands like Cheerios, Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, Lucky Charms, and Cap’n Crunch. Also, the store offers global cereal brands.

Bowls come in two sizes: small/16-ounce for $5.59 and large/32-ounce for $6.59. All cereals come with a choice of milk, including alternative nondairy milk: skim milk, 1 percent, 2 percent, whole, oat, soy, almond, and Lactaid options. They also sell cereal-flavored milk, made fresh daily, with new flavors each day.

For about $7 bucks, you can select a cereal combo. Unique items include the Looped, Fruit Loops, Fruity Pebbles, whipped cream, and strawberry drizzle. Or the Dark Size, which is Frosted Flakes, Chocolate Frosted Flakes, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and chocolate sprinkles. Try the Shipwreck with Reese’s Puffs, Cap’n Crunch, whipped cream, and The Spelled Milk’s secret topping.

The ice cream bar presents handmade vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and soft serve vanilla and chocolate. Ice creams can come in a cup or a cone, plus flavored cones like waffle cones, cake cones, Cocoa Puffs Waffle Cone, and Fruity Pebbles Waffle Cone, to name a few.

They also offer 18 milkshakes made with handmade ice cream and 2 percent milk. Unique flavors include the Mallow with vanilla ice cream, marshmallow, Frosted Rice Krispies, and topped with whipped cream and Rice Krispie dust. Or the Coo Coo with chocolate ice cream, Cocoa Puffs, milk chocolate chips topped with whipped cream, mini chocolate chips, and chocolate sauce. The cereal bar offers so many scrumptious shakes.

Plus, customers can order protein shakes with yummy cereal blended into whey and protein shakes or milk alternatives. You can also pep up with delicious coffees and waffles, too.

A retail area sells boxes of hard-to-find global cereal brands, along with fun cereal-themed merchandise, such as T-shirts (Cereal is my one true love,” says one shirt), Raisin Bran socks, Fruity Pebbles eye shadow, and Rice Krispies boxer briefs.

Guests can watch cartoons on TV, play retro Nintendo, play classic board games, and skim vintage magazines.

Art is all over this whimsical restaurant. The storage room looks like a milk carton, and the restroom door is designed to look like oversized cereal boxes. Nothing is boring about being at The Spelled Milk.

The Spelled Milk is not just for breakfast. They’re open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
